My First Poem: A Classroom Activity to Encourage Literacy and Creativity!
This years poetry competitions from Young Writers provides your Nursery, Preschools and Schools with a classroom activity and the oppourtunity to be involved in a creative writing experience: from writing their first poem to the chance of seeing their work in print.

Young Writers has worked closely with schools for the past 16 years, bringing a passion and enthusiasm for writing into lessons. We are inviting you to send us your pupils' first peoms for the chance to
take part.

Who Are Young Writers?
Young Writers is the young people’s publishing imprint of Forward Press - The People’s Publisher. Established in 1991, Young Writers has promoted poetry and creative writing within schools for the past 15 years by running annual nationwide competitions. Each competition results in the publication of a collection of regional anthologies showcasing the work of today’s children. The British Library has over a decade of Young Writers collections in its national archive!
